If you’ve been doing all the right things, eating whole foods, getting daily movement, cycling carbs and finishing your workouts but you’ve still got fluff you don’t want, then you may want to consider your supplement routine. While there's no magic pill for melting away pounds, some supplements can give you a little extra edge. The FASTer Way program includes weekly meal plans that give you well-rounded macronutrients like carbs, fat and protein, and if you’re following the meal plan you’re generally getting a good dose of the vitamins you need, along with gut-healthy and inflammation fighting foods. But, there is still a time and place you may need support.

Here’s what we’d have in the cabinet on hand for overall health and wellness.

1. Green Tea Extract

Green tea isn't just for fancy tea parties. This powerhouse is packed with catechins, yeah, we know, it’s a fancy word, but catechins can boost your metabolism and help your body burn fat more efficiently. Plus, it gives you a nice little energy boost without the jitters of coffee.

2. Protein Powder

It doesn’t matter where you are in your fitness journey, protein is key. Whether you’re a pro or you’re just starting out, the goal is to aim for more protein. It’s what builds muscle. At the FASTer Way we like to recommend 1 gram of protein per pound of weight. So if you’re 150 pounds, aim for 150 grams of protein. This is where a protein powder can help you get the boost you need and something like FASTer Way HydroBEEF grassfed vanilla and chocolate protein powders mix easily into pretty much anything.

3. Creatine

Surprise! Creatine isn't just for bulking up.In the 90s creatine got a bad rap but research disputes all the bad lies you’ve been told. Creatine is now known as a powerful tool not just in building muscle but also supporting brain health. The key is consistency. Creatine builds in your system over time and that’s when you really start to see the benefit.

4. Probiotics

One of our favorite things to talk about at FASTer Way is gut health. It’s so much more than just digesting food or having a stomach of steel that lets you eat cheese and bread. No, gut health is about immunity and fighting inflammation that makes you feel bloated and blah. Probiotics can help balance your gut bacteria, potentially reducing inflammation and improving metabolism so that you look and feel leaner.

5. Vitamin D

The sunshine vitamin isn't just for strong bones – it might be your fat loss friend too. Low vitamin D levels have been linked to obesity, and some studies suggest boosting your levels could help with weight loss. Plus, it's a mood-booster, which might help you say "no" to those emotional ice cream binges.

Remember, supplements are just that – supplements to a healthy diet and exercise routine. They're not miracle workers, but they can give you a helpful nudge in the right direction. Always chat with your doc before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if you have any health conditions or are taking medications.
